What are noxious weeds?

“Noxious” means harmful or destructive. Noxious weeds are non-native, invasive weeds that aggressively replace native vegetation. This reduces the productivity of agricultural land, destroys the habitat of wildlife, causes erosion, and increases the risk of wildfire. Each of the states in our service area— Colorado, Kansas, and Nebraska— have a noxious weed control program through their respective Departments of Agriculture. The purpose of these programs is to eradicate and control the spread of harmful noxious weeds. Each of these states has laws requiring private landowners to control the spread of and eradicate weeds on the state’s noxious weed list. If you have received a notice from your weed district, we can help you develop a plan and come into compliance. If you have not yet received a notice, but you have spotted noxious weeds on your property, it is important to be proactive in addressing the problem. We can help you identify problematic weeds and craft a custom plan to treat your property. Of course, weeds don’t have to be “noxious” to be obnoxious, so even if you aren’t sure your weeds are considered noxious, we can help you get rid of any unwanted vegetation and develop a plan to restore native grasses to your property.

How can we help?

We help landowners identify their problem weeds and develop a custom treatment plan to get rid of them. We can make chemical and timing recommendations, or if you already know what you want, we are happy to apply the chemical of your choice. We also supply the chemical we apply, saving you the hassle of sourcing chemical elsewhere. This means you won’t be forced to purchase more chemical than is necessary for the job. It also gives you access to some chemicals that the average landowner cannot purchase.
